RHDV2 is a  fatal disease in rabbits that is spreading throughout the United States.  It is in California and spreading. It can be transmitted even in the hay or pellets that people buy to feed their rabbits or by insects that have been on an infected rabbit and then fly to where the pet rabbit is kept.  

THERE IS NOW A VACCINE TO PREVENT THIS DISEASE

The protocol is an initial vaccine is given to rabbits 4 weeks of age or older, followed by a booster shot 21 days later.  Then it is given annually.

Rabbits receiving the vaccine MUST BE MICROCHIPPED. ($40) or have an existing microchip.  We cannot vaccinate rabbits that are not in a carrier with an easy-to-open door (a cage will not work).  

The booster shot is an additional charge and is not included in the cost of the initial vaccine & microchip.  

Cost:  Each dose of vaccine is $45.00.  The microchip cost is $40.
